Jack! I met Jack about 5 years ago back when we were first setting up the Headshots business. He was on of my very first clients in Australia and took a massive risk coming to use someone who, at the time, was not at all known… I still remember that day very clearly and him using one of my jackets for his headshot shoot in my lounge. We got the awesome opportunity to shoot a range of headshots for her in the studio today but also had a few minutes to shoot some cinematic and environmental images for her to use in her acting and performance auditions. So there it is! My complete editing and retouching philosophy. It’s actually really simple, takes a bit of time, but simple non-the-less. I believe in real images, real people and not too much photoshop shenanigans.
When people look at your headshot, then meet you, the last thing you want is a knee-jerk reaction like: “wow, that’s not you”. So, over the years I’ve really narrowed down my skill as a retoucher and developed a list of things I won’t do to a headshot. In the image above you can see the result off all that work.
